Need To Gain Weight? Try New Monster Mass!
CytoSport has just released a new weight gain supplement called Monster Mass. This new weight gainer powder is the sister product to Monster Milk, another awesome whey protein blend made by CytoSport. According to CytoSport, they have made a weight gainer that tastes great and is low in sugar. Sugar is usually high in many weight gainers, it’s cheap and allow the makers to easily increase the calorie content. This is not what you want is you’re trying to gain weight though! Sugar will spike insulin and you’re more likely to put on fat not muscle!
CytoSport sent me some samples of Monster Mass to try out last week. If you’ve every tried Muscle Milk or Monster Milk, Monster Mass tastes pretty much the same. Muscle Milk is known for being one of the best tasting protein powders on the market, and I’d have to say that Monster Mass would be right up there along side Pro Complex Gainer and True Mass (strawberry) in the best tasting weight gainers.
Monster Mass packs around 600 calories per serving. I’d recommend taking it in the morning, post workout, and if you’re really having trouble gaining weight, before bed time. You can also adjust the dosage to lower/raise the calories if you want.
In summary, I think this is going to be another big one for CytoSport, along side their other gainer, CytoGainer. There are already some Monster Mass Reviews Posted, so check them out as well.
MuscleTech Releases IntraVol - A Supplement For During Training!
MuscleTech, one of the most popular supplement companies out there, has just released a new “intra-workout” supplement called IntraVol. Basically IntraVol has been designed to replace water during intense weight training sessions. Apparently (I have not seen these yet) there have been a lot of scientific studies into intra-workout nutrition conducted over the past few years. These studies have shown that waxy maize starch, combined with amino acids, vitamins and other compounds can greatly reduce muscle breakdown, increase anabolism (muscle growth), speed up recovery and more when taking during a weight training session.
IntraVol has also been getting some good reviews too. Here’s a quote from MuscleTech about IntraVol:
“IntraVol is the first during-training muscle building supplement. Once you feel the power of the IntraVol™ effect, your training sessions and the way you build muscle will be changed forever. In a 12-week study conducted by exercise physiologists at a Australian university, test subjects consuming the key complex in IntraVol™ during training gained 127% more lean muscle than subjects using a placebo (9.04 vs. 3.97 lbs.).”
Has anyone tried IntraVol? If you have tried IntraVol I’d live to hear your experiences with it! Leave your comments below!
Edit: Creatine Supp Guide also made a good post about IntraVol
Benefits of Amino Acids
Amino acids are compounds required by your body to help your body burn off stored fat; this helps dieters increase the results they see from other weight loss efforts such as dieting and exercise.
Amino acids are the critical building blocks of protein; there are 23 of them that enhance the body’s general feeling of well being, health, and optimal functioning.
Fat burning benefits of amino acids
Amino acids are known as either essential or non-essential acids. The 9 acids that have to be consumed by your body are known as the essential amino acids, able to be digested from foods such as beans, legumes, meats, and a variety of other high protein foods.
When consumed, amino acids help the body burn off fat by using two integral fat burning processes. For starters, stored body fat becomes mobilized… and secondly, this body fat is converted into energy, which means decreased fat and enhanced weight loss.
Benefits of L-Arginine
L-arginine is a powerful protein amino acid and is an essential compound for the body to be able to funtion and heal. Amino acids are much more important to older individuals who commonly require more support to boost their natural defenses.
Why should I take ZMA?
ZMA is a scientifically engineered anabolic formula composed of minerals. ZMA also has zinc monomethionine aspartate, magnesium aspartate and vitamin B-6, where it’s name is also derived from. Some studies have shown that it has a clinical effect on testosterone levels when it is used in a combination of 30mg zinc and 450mg magnesium per day.
